Maya Renders

These are a few things (assignments) I've done during my spring semester of my Sophomore year in college (current as of now). I have a preference for modern aesthetics, such as clean lines, gentle curves, and bold colors. Some people say I should branch out and try something new, which is true, but I don't mind having a style.

Pop Fusion

This is what I did for fun in my free time. I wanted to, finally, upload something that wasn't school related, or a major project - just fun. I didn't want to edit too much (things like cropping) because I worked hard on the ENTIRE Image.

Tools Used:
-MS Paint

Rotating Save Crystal

I volunteer for different projects (not often, since the groups are kind of crazy in terms of development), but the group I chose to work for wanted a save crystal in the game. I wanted it to bob up and down while turning, but I never got around to it. It's not all that hard - some basic calculations involving dividing the number of frames by the total degree of rotation and further adding it to the objects - but I left it sitting for a while. The team isn't in a rush, and they like it so far, but I just chose to leave it alone for now. The only problem I have it that it doesn't glow that way I want it to. It shines though, which I enjoy. Texturing this was slightly annoying, since I do NOT UV map (the measures I go to texturing higher poly objects is just ridiculous and tedious), but the benefits are well worth it.

Some 3d Models

These are a few models I did a while back. Since I've been using an older engine, I've been forced to use lower poly models (letting the textures do most of the work) but I think I do did well, given the limitations.

A pistol, Done in 2009

A Fountain, Done in 2008

And a more recent model - a tipped ottoman and pillows, Done in 2011.
I still have to abide by the rules of low poly models. Sad, but true.

Research and Development - Work In Progress

This is a fun project to make. Since the project is far from done, I can't give a date on it, but I did start it during my winter break (Mid-December 2010). Like "The Watery Grave", it was made with the Tomb Raider Level Editor. I don't really work fast, but I made a LOT of progress over my break. Due to college, it's very slow, but I still work on it. :)

The Watery Grave - Published

This was a game published about a year ago (January 24, 2010). I never advertised it because of what it was made with - The Tomb Raider Level Editor, and it was only played a large-ish community of people. I'm a bit embarrassed, since I usually get taunted for my efforts and my means of doing what I do, but it's cool. The engine is all of a decade old, but I still manage to pull together some really cool and good looking things out of it, despite the engines age. Even though I have to take materials and resources (mostly textures and sounds, and the occasion object) from other people, I still feel as though I've acquired a fair amount of experience in the years I've been using the program.

Pen-Rock (Digital Collage) - Published

Pen Rock  (Digital Collage)
Editing Tools used:
Photoshop
Scanner (Epson something)

This was a picture done in class using, mostly, pieces from a pen and rocks. The other bits are things around my room, my pocket, the ground, etc. - little small, insignificant nothings. I have a thing for drawing landscapes, but I've never made one out of random items that threw together in all of 5 minutes. I wanted to tell a story of a small community of people who live in an old, worn out town and, to them, it's "home". The rest of the photo is completely up for personal interpretation, like what the little stick figures are doing. Are they taking a care-free jump into the ocean, enjoying time with friends or are they all "taking the easy way out",  as a means of escaping the town - its all up to the viewer and how the perceive the photo and what the pictures meaning is.

It was fun.
